MOUNT GREENWOOD — Seventeen students were injured in a school bus crash Friday morning on the Southwest Side.
About 7:30 a.m. Friday, the bus was headed west in the 3900 block of West 111th Street when an SUV driver attempted to turn right in front of the bus, and the bus hit the SUV, police said.
The bus had students from an unnamed suburban high school. Seventeen students and the two drivers were taken to local hospitals in fair condition.
Police said citations against the driver of the SUV, a 64-year-old man, are pending.
