CHICAGO — Visitation begins Monday for a fallen Chicago fire captain who was killed in the line of duty last week.
54-year-old CFD Captain David Meyer was a 28-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department. He was tragically killed while crews were responding to a garage fire that broke out around 4 a.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of West Crystal in the Austin neighborhood.
He leaves behind a wife and four children.
A public visitation for Meyer is scheduled for Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, located at 6000 North Milwaukee Avenue in the
