WHEATON, Ill. (WGN) — It’s been one week since the death of Pope Francis. Over the weekend, he was laid to rest, as thousands of Catholics celebrated his life.
Artist Jason Siler, who has a special connection to the pontiff, was watching from Chicago’s western suburbs.
Siler uses a pressurized screen to paint.
“I basically have the ability to just draw and paint just as I would on paper or canvas,” he said.
His forte is the face. He produces portraits that appear in publications. But over his nearly 25-year career, one painting rises above the rest.
