NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – An F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet is lost at sea after slipping off the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier Monday, leaving one sailor injured, officials with the U.S. Navy announced.
Sailors were towing the Super Hornet when the move crew “lost control” of the aircraft, Navy officials said. Both the aircraft and the tow vehicle went overboard and were considered lost at sea as of Monday evening.
