Woman, 25, fatally struck by car while walking on sidewalk on West Side

CHICAGO — A 25-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the city’s West Side.

The fatal crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday on the 1300 block of South Lawndale in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

According to police, a 21-year-old female driver was traveling northbound through the alley and made a left turn on 13th Street, when the vehicle struck the curb and went onto the sidewalk, striking a 25-year-old female pedestrian.

The pedestrian sustained multiple injuries about the body and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
