CHICAGO — A 32-year-old man was killed in a fire Wednesday morning on the city’s South Side.

The fire started around 2 a.m. in a building at 71st and South Rhodes Avenues in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Police said a man was recovered from a unit and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
