(NewsNation) — For some Social Security recipients, May could bring three checks from the Social Security Administration.
Anyone who receives Supplemental Security Income from the agency will receive two payments in May, in addition to their regular Social Security benefit check.
The Social Security Administration pays out Social Security benefits and Supplement Security Income (SSI), but the programs are different. SSI is need-based. It goes to people who are 65 and older, blind or disabled, and who have low income and very limited resources.
