CHICAGO (WGN) — The Eta Aquarid meteor shower, remnants of Halley’s comet, peak this weekend and into next week.
The Eta Aquarids occur every year and have been active since April 19, according to the American Meteor Society. Peak activity will be between Sunday and Tuesday.
While those of us in the Northern Hemisphere won’t see as much activity as those living below the equator, the skies should still offer a pretty impressive display, with 10 to 25 meteors visible per hour, Adler Planetarium educator Hunter Miller told WGN.
