CHICAGO — Thousands marched Thursday to commemorate May Day, demanding fair wages, protections for immigrant workers and denouncing President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Chicago was one of hundreds of cities across the country where people took to the streets to mark May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, a holiday with deep roots in the city’s labor history. The march began Thursday morning in Union Park, with participants making their way to Grant Park by the afternoon.
