Remains ID’d as missing Gary woman last seen in 2021

GARY, Ind. — Human remains discovered in March have been identified as a missing Gary woman last seen in 2021.

Gary police responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Jefferson Street on the afternoon of March 28.

Skeletal remains were recovered and the Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.

The remains were identified Tuesday as Lisa Wright, 30, of Gary.

Wright originally went missing in Sept. 2021. Her manner of her death is still under investigation.

Anyone with information on the events leading Wright’s death are asked to contact the Gary Police Department’s Investigative Division
