South Loop’s Ace Hardware To Close Next Month

SOUTH LOOP — Another longtime business is making its exit from the South Loop.

JC Licht Ace Hardware, 725 S. State St. in Printer’s Row, will close next month after 23 years in the neighborhood. The store’s final day is May 24.

The reason for the closure is unclear. Calls to the corporate offices were not returned.

The hardware store is currently offering up to a 50 percent discount on select items.

JC Licht operates 64 stores in the Chicago area, including in the Gold Coast and the West Loop.
