PILSEN — A vacant lot on Pilsen’s 18th Street could become home to an apartment building with retail under a proposal by developer Teo Scorte.
The developer plans to build a 28,500-square-foot, five-story building at 966 W. 18th St. next to Simone’s Bar. The building would have two retail spaces on the ground floor and 24 one- to three-bedroom apartments.
Five of the apartments would be affordable units, as required by the city’s Affordable Requirements Ordinance, Ximena Castro, the developer’s attorney, said at a Wednesday community meeting at Joseph Jungman STEM Magnet School.
